Did Plato get it wrong about Atlantis as his story does not accord well with Greek mythology? Diodorus however says that the Atlantians lived at the base of Mount Atlas in Africa and that it was an island in a large lake nearby that disappeared during an earthquake which was inhabited by Amazons.
