The War on Mickey Mouse: War is Hell

It’s been a long story in the telling and Mickey and I have not always been reading off the same page, but the battle is won, though I’m not sure if the war is won. For now though, Mickey is gone and the mousetrap is now empty.

It was a long and hard fought campaign. Both sides used tricks and subterfuge in what turned out to be a cat and mouse battle. Quite apt as he was Mickey and I am Tom. Geddit? Tom Cat? Mickey Mouse? Never mind.

So, in the end it was human ingenuity versus mousey sneakiness and humanity won. I built a trap not once but three times and in the end, my ingenuity shone through… but my traps failed to catch the little bugger so I had to go out and buy a mousetrap!

Mousetrap

But as mousetraps go it worked first time… which says a lot for my DIY skills. Mickey was captured last night and released into the wild, in the middle of nowhere, at 6 am today and boy did he move fast when I released him.

So long Mickey. But like all good dramatic film endings, is there another Mickey, just waiting in the wings? Or maybe an even sneakier Jerry is still in the house, watching, waiting and biding his time. Watch this mousetrap.
