Where are my lupins?

It’s that time of year in the UK when we enjoy a few days of sunshine and start knocking the garden into shape.  After a few days of weeding, Pruning, with the odd bit of slash and burning, I am now in my armchair grasping its arms with a certain degree of desperation with the lower left part of my back in spasm.  I find it hard to get up and when I try to walk  I seem to have turned into Mrs Overall.

On top of that, I have not been able to find my Lupins.  They were magnificent last year.  They should be coming up in early spring and there is no trace of them.  I am pretty sure I know who the culprit is.

The war is now on between these shell-less terrestrial gastropod molluscs.  In past years I have tried Beer, salt and pet/child safe pellets, but the slugs just keep on coming at night to get pissed on the beer eating everything except the salt and pellets.  They are canny little bastards who, without question, have devoured the first succulent shoots of my lupins!

“Nice lupins Tessa Barrie.  Will be back  for the Marigolds tonight”

HANDS OFF THE MARIGOLDS YOU LITTLE SLIME BALL!  I WILL BE BACK TO FINISH YOU OFF AS SOON AS I CAN GET OUT OF MY CHAIR!  SO BE VERY, VERY AFRAID!!!!!
