Best Reminder Apps For Android Smartphones And Tablets

Whoever you are, and whatever your day job, your life no doubt, can be hectic. So, how do you go about remembering everything you have to do today, tomorrow, next week, and so on? The chances are high that you forget a few things along the way. Fortunately, as an Android smartphone or tablet user, there is an abundance of Reminder Apps that can help. As such today, I am going to share my top four with you, explaining each as I go.

Android Reminder Apps

Now, before I begin, I realize not everyone may be familiar with what a Reminder app is. So, here’s a brief explanation to bring you up to speed and to help you realize how helpful these tools can be.

Reminder Apps, are exactly that Apps which remind you of something. For example, they can help you to remember certain items when shopping, to make a shopping list, to be at a specific location at a certain time, and in fact, almost anything else.

The easiest way to describe one would be to say if you need someone to tell/remind you that you have an appointment with the doctor next week. A reminder app on your Android smartphone or tablet would remove the chance of that person forgetting and you missing the appointment. Now that you’re clearer, there’s no doubt these apps can be invaluable, especially to those who have a hectic lifestyle or are absent minded.

Now for what I think are the top four best reminder apps for Android, for which they are listed in no particular order.

Any.do: To-do list & Reminders

With a GooglePlay star rating of 4.5 and downloads surpassing the 10-million mark, Any.do is one of the more established reminder apps around.

As for what it can do, it can help you to create tasks for multiple events, such as things that need completing, reminding to get milk from the shop. And even helping you to remember when a family members birthday is, and purchase gifts. In fact, this app has so much functionality, that, it’s difficult to believe that it is free.

Moving onto the design it’s was last updated on May 17th, and has recently had a feature overhaul imposed by its developer. New features include various customizations, syncing between devices via the cloud, and more.

You can find out more about the app here.

Evernote

While traditionally not seen as being among the reminder apps, you would automatically choose from. I believe Evernote is a truly versatile application, and as such worthy of inclusion in this list.

At its core, Evernote is a powerful and customizable note-taking app, one of the most popular on Android. However, along with its note-taking features are the abilities to take notes and set reminders. These memory joggers can be set for a particular location, time, or in combination. Meaning that using Evernote as a shopping aid is well worth trying. In fact, if you tend to buy the same things each time you shop, the app can be set up to remind you forever.

Google Allo

If you have heard of this particular app, you may be thinking to yourself, “But that is a messaging app,” you would be correct. However, I can assure you that Google Allo is much more than that.

Yes, it greets you as a messaging app, but don’t let that confuse you. Why? Because there are hidden, but powerful features found in reminder apps, built-in to Allo. One such powerful feature is Google Assistant; it can do virtually anything, including reminding you. Furthermore, it’s extremely easy to set up, all you have to do is talk to it, tell it what you want reminding of and that’s it. The app will now inform you of your chosen task, or whatever else, at the time, or date you wanted.

As for how it does this, its truly like a personal assistant, although one, who reminds you by messaging you. Which means it’s virtually hands-free and fun.

Google Allo, is free on GooglePlay, download it here.

Just Reminder

Next on this reminder apps list is Just Reminder, the only application on this list to be dedicated to one task.

What is that one task? That depends on what needs remembering, as such you can set ToDo / Task, Phone Call, Birthday. Plus Anniversary and Bill Reminders with just a few simple clicks. As for how it compares to the other apps, it’s the more feature-filled for what it was designed to do. Meaning it will allow reminders to be set to recurring, and pretty much anything else. As for negatives, the one I can think of is its design, it’s quite dated, although it works perfectly well.

IFFFT

If you’re looking for that one app, the one that could single-handedly change your life, IFFFT could be it. Unlike the other reminder apps, it’s not of the dedicated variety. Instead, its developers have created a tool which works with other applications to deliver information in one easy to understand place. Meaning no more clicking between apps to build the big picture.

IFFFT works with hundreds of third-party apps to help you organize your life, with reminders being just one of many tasks it is capable of. How can it help? Send reminders to others, it’s easy to set up and, if work-related your team could be busy at work, with the information required. Missed a phone call, and need a reminder to call back? That to can easily be arranged with the swipe of a finger. Additionally, how about being reminded to turn on your home’s heating, IFFFT can do that too. Or if your home is smart, communicate with it to do so.

All-in-all, this app is designed to save you time, remind you of daily tasks and to keep you informed.
