Why is my computer so slow? Is PCKeeper doing it really right?

For automobile owners, you appreciate the value of occasionally visiting a mechanic to tweak a few areas of your car’s engines to make it function optimally. After a protracted period of running your personal Computer (PC) may tend to wonder “why is my computer so slow?” and its response time becomes uncharacteristically poor.

This trait is attributed to the accumulation of temporary junk files that clutter the computer system, downloading and installing poorly coded computer applications, file fragmentation, and a broken system registry.

What Is Pckeeper All About?

Akin to engine tune up, computer softwares do exist to spruce up your computer and hence make it run efficiently. A phenomenon termed as PC optimization. However, PCKeeper brings in a new dimension into the game of PC optimization.

Coming with over 14 in building application in a single software, the cherry on the cake about PCKeeper is the fact that it offers real time human assistance to tune up your computer. A report generated by the PCKeeper software is sent and analyzed remotely by a certified technician who later tailor makes remedial measures for your computer to be fully optimized with a single click!

The over 14 inbuilt applications under the single roof of PCKeeper offers unprecedented pc optimizing tool. PCKeeper is designed to handle security threats through its antivirus program application, cleaning and optimization applications that aim at identifying culpable files that slow the response speed of your computer.

Getting Started With PCKeeper and discovering why is my computer so slow

It’s unfortunate that in order for you to run PCKeeper application, your personal computer (pc) ought to meet a certain minimum threshold. For starters, you will need a Windows operating system (vista or anything above version 7).

A hard disk space (where the application is stored) of 200MB and a temporary computer storage space (RAM) of 512 MB for the smooth running of the program. Just like most programs installation, simple clicks of the dialogue boxes will get the program fully installed. It’s a licenced application.

This implies that to fully enjoy the trappings of PCKeeper you will be forced to purchase an activation code. However, a trial version that limits the number of fixes is available.

Understudying the PCKeeper Interface

The designers of this program in their end user agreement stress the need of having a simple yet effective application capable of being operated by all. Its interface is a true reflection of these ideals. The program interface as displayed on the left panel offers four major options under the categories of human, technical assistance, security tool checks, optimization as well as cleaning tools icons.

Inside the four broad categories, users are presented with further action prompt. It’s a matter of reading and clicking on the desired action platform. Take for instance the disk cleaner tool.

It will offer options of disk cleaner, duplicate finder in addition to Uninstaller and disk explorer. After all said and done, these tools are designed with instructions or rather icons of how to speed up your computer.

Moving Forward Is PCKeeper Half As Good As It Claims?

Seeing is believing is an old truth that needs no further elaboration. A slow PC with all honesty need no extra tests to tell you the pretty obvious that it’s slow. Its self-observatory. Takes ages to boot up and launch applications, midway freezing of running applications are just but a few telltale signs of a slow paced PC.

In PCKeeper, you have an application that would enable you to analyze and identify factors that cause your system to slow down. Call it a computer health test. It diagnoses the problem and offers a remedial action.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. To avoid sounding like I am pitching for the software, it will be prudent for you to run the test and make your own personal observation. Below are screen shots of my personal experience before and after the PCKeeper diagnostic health test. It’s worth noting that it was a trial version. The results are pretty promising.

PCKeeper Review Verdict

It’s difficult to come to a conclusion based on the statistics that the software PCKeeper generates about my PC. It beats logic for the PCKeeper to be a player and at the same time be the umpire! The matter is further complicated by lawsuits against PCKeeper version that runs on Mac pc- the MacKeeper. Raising of false alarm to initiate clean up exercise at a cost!

The suit goes further to indicate that MacKeeper thrived on scareware (intimidating tactics to coerce users to purchase the full version).

Having said that it worth to note that MacKeeper exchanged hands and the past errors that lead to the lawsuit are being addressed by the new firm Kromtech.

It has been said that you never have a “second chance to make a first impression.”  Based on the above law suit findings, that’s hinged on unethical practises, I would highly recommend that you exercise caution when settling for PCKeeper application as a computer optimizing program. Once bitten, twice shy!
